- To provide a loving, accepting, and safe learning environment to children of all faiths and ethnic background
- To develop a child's social, physical, and cognitive growth with "hands-on" age appropriate activities
- To encourage emotional and spiritual development by teaching the golden rule principle and character development, such as honesty, kindness, patience, friendliness, etc.
- To be sensitive to the needs of each family
- Because, YOU as the parent or guardian, play such an important role in the child's development, we have an "Open Door" policy. This allows any parent or guardian to observe and occasionally be a part of the classroom at any time.
- We also encourage you to share your interests, talents and enthusiam!
Our goal is to help your child reach his or her potential through a positive, and engaging developmental program. First Steps Preschool strives to provide a motivating and nurturing educational environment for young children as they develop Kintergarten readiness skills.
It is our vision and belief that these early years are the "First Steps" of a child's success for the future. Our environment provides many hands-on activities and allows children to creatively explore the world around them. We provide activities and experiences that help your child develop a sense of independence, self-confidence, and self-discipline. Our curriculum responds to the needs of the children in their particular stage of development.
Our kind and caring staff are dedicated to helping young children grow socially, emotionally, physically, congnitively, and spiritually. All of our teachers are experienced professionals trained in Early Childhood Education and are Certified in Pediatric CPR and First Aid.
First Steps Preschool is affiliated with the NEW LIFE Purpose Center and is fully licensed by the Pasco County License Board. All children are welcome and we have many programs available to meet the needs of our families. We are certified by the Early Learning Coalition to be a Voluntary Pre-K (VPK) and School Readiness Provider.
We look forward to a positive relationship between students, teachers, parents, and the community working together in the education process.
Most of our pre-school teachers have their CDA Credentials, and all are CPR & First Aid Certified in addition to having Pasco County Licensing and Florida State Requirements for employment with a licensed Child Care Program.
Our Director, Pastor Glenn Morris, has over twenty years experience in elementary education. He established a school for Pre-K - Eighth Grade for over 200 students in Palm Harbor, and a pre-school in Tarpon Springs for over 50 students.
This is his third school with present enrollment over 40 students.
